The most simple way to get to Montpellier is to arrive to any of the main French/Spanish/Swiss cities in that area. Then, take a TGV/AVE (high speed) train to get there. Or if you get to Paris by flight, there's an Air France local flight from Paris to Montpellier as well.
- From Geneva, which has together with Zurich the two biggest airports in Switzerland, to Montpellier. It takes 03h46 according to the SNCF website.
- From Paris to Montpellier, by train in takes around 03h27 according to voyages-sncf.com. You can also fly to Montpellier via Air France (direct flight), it takes 1h15.
- From Barcelona, RENFE website says it takes 3h.
- From Zurich, train to Montpellier.
- From Marseille, train to Montpellier.
- From Lyon, train to Montpellier.
