A few tips and tricks for your visit

When you arrive at the airport you can take the Metro to Forum metro station. The Hotel is within walking distance of the station.

Copenhagen Metro

The metro in Copenhagen is quite efficient for commuting to the inner city if you want to see a little bit of Copenhagen while you are here.

Metro stop: Nørreport

At Nørreport metro station a good place to visit is the food market Torvehallerne, where all sorts of small food stores sell liquorice, tea, sandwiches, fresh produce, tapas, chocolate.... There is also a lot of small food stands/cafe's - Don't miss out on trying the coffee at the coffee collective and if you like you can try some "cave man" food at Palæo, which is the new big food trend in Copenhagen and Denmark.

Nørreport is also close to the National Gallery of Denmark (about 10-13 minutes walk http://goo.gl/maps/d8x5w) http://www.smk.dk, which is worth a visit and the Rosenberg Castle, where they keep the crown jewels (http://dkks.dk/). You can see both when walking from Nørreport see http://goo.gl/maps/d8x5w . (Please note again that both are closed on Mondays ;) )

At Nørreport the biggest shopping street (Købmagergade) begins on which you will find the Round Tower, where you can get a good view of the city from the top and there are mostly also interesting exhibits in there. (http://www.rundetaarn.dk/). Walking map: http://goo.gl/maps/b7LXW

Metro stop: Kongens Nytorv

Monday we will all go to a restaurant (http://www.dentatoveredeenke.dk/#!/en) near Kongens Nytorv metro stop (http://goo.gl/maps/I3Jg3).

From Kongens Nytorv metro stop (kgs. Nytorv) you can easily reach the queens castle by foot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalienborg). Walking map: http://goo.gl/maps/HdwDZ.

From Kgs. Nytorv you can reach Nyhavn (http://goo.gl/maps/A69TD), which is the very old harbour and now a restaurant/bar street (a little bit touristic).

Nyhavn

From Nyhavn you can get on the Harbour buses (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copenhagen_Harbour_Buses, e.g. Route 904) or a canal cruise to see some of the very fantastic architecture and harbour front areas of Copenhagen (The Opera House, The black Diamond (national royal library)...). The canal cruise will probably also take you to the little mermaid, which is very famous (and very touristic and quiet small ;) )

Metro stop: Islands Brygge

There are a few places where it is simply nice to hang out like the harbour front of Islands Brygge (There is also a metro station here) - In this area a new part of the city is being built from Islands Brygge station to "DR Byen" and at the "Bella center" (also a metro station) a new hotel (the Bella Sky) has been built which is kind of "skewed". It has a sky bar at the 23rd floor, which should have champagne, tapas and nice cocktails ... and a great view.. (http://www.bellaskycomwell.dk/hotelsite2011/om_hotellet/)

Close to Hotel

Lastly, there is a great cocktail bar minutes from your hotel (http://www.salon39.dk/) and also very close is Vesterbro, which is also a part of town, where it is simply nice to hang out. Try for example the Mikkeller bar (http://mikkeller.dk/), which is also within walking distance.

Weather forecast

We are hoping for a bit of spring, but the weather forecast says -5 degrees Celcius, so remember to bring some warm clothes.
